NEFLAC ENSEMBLE [2025]
The Neflac Ensemble is part of the Dutch Flute Academy. For them, I captured a special moment in Amsterdam’s legendary concert hall, Het Concertgebouw. As a cinematographer, I focused on the subtle aspects of the performance: close-ups of the flutists and their instruments, the reactions of the audience, and the connection between the musicians. I wanted to create a dynamic visual experience within a rather static environment.
With color, I aimed to communicate the light and dreamy atmosphere of the music the Neflac Ensemble plays. By softening the image and using a warm look, I captured the feeling of the performance rather than simply documenting it. The result is an aftermovie that highlights not only the concert itself, but also the energy, emotion and modern approach of the ensemble.
